Statistical Modelling and Optimization of TIG Welding Process Parameters Using Taguchi’s Method

This current research focuses on optimizing the welding process parameters and penetration of 5052 alloys using a TIG based Taguchi methods. Process such as current, voltage, speed with three different levels were taken to form L27 orthogonal array design experiments. Analysis variance, signal-to-noise ratio analysis, regression analysis performed. The indicated that developed model has greater adequacy in predicting reinforcement factor (RFF), shape (PSF) hardness weld specimens. In addition, optimized parametric condition for welded specimen was found be 140 A, 18 V, 300 mm/min, respectively.
